1. Nagaland on Wednesday became the first state to use the high-tech voter recording system 'Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail' (VVPAT) with Electronic Voting Machines for the by-elections to Noksen Assembly constituency.

2. Chhattisgarh has been selected for this year's prestigious National Literacy Award for the first time since its formation in November 2000.

3. India's northeastern state of Tripura achieved the first position in literacy with 94.65 percent, beating Kerala (93.91 percent), Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar announced in Agartala on Sunday.

4. Government will soon launch Rajiv Awas Yojana (RAY) to make the country Slum Free.Government has approved 32,230 crore rupees for the implementation of the scheme during 12th Five Year Plan.

5. Veteran midfielder Ritu Rani will lead an 18-member Indian women's hockey team in the eighth Asia Cup to be played in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from September 21 to 27.

7. Kerala state government on 5 September 2013 launched an E-payment facility which allows people to pay various utility bills and access government department services online.

8. The ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) of incumbent Prime Minister Hun Sen on 8 September 2013 was reelected to power after winning the Parliamentary Elections held on 28 July 2013.

9. Indian IT Company Wipro Ltd on 7 September 2013 signed agreement with the US-based Kana Software to provide customer service solutions to its global insurers through a joint development centre.

10. Wrestling was approved by the IOC on Sunday as an "additional sport" for 2020.
