Giving Up

A man was spending his holiday in Africa. One day he watched the elephants passing by. To his great surprise these giant strong animals were being held only by a small rope, tied to their front leg. Obviously, they could easily run away any moment. However, they did not.

Then he saw a trainer and asked him, how could this happen that not a single elephant makes an attemp to break free. The trainer explained: „When the elephants are very young, we use the same size rope to tie them, and at that time it is enough to hold them. Gradually they grow up, get stronger, nevertheless they never try to get away, as they believe that the rope will still hold them.

The man was stunned. These strong animals could break free any time, but they did not, because they believed that this is impossible.

Sometimes people act like elephants, when they give up after the first failure. Remember, that failures are part of learning. If we want to succeed, we should never give up, but try and try again.

Keys to Life

What's Best

The Power of Choice. Every one of us makes countless choices every day. Every choice we make has an impact on our lives. Even insignificant choices can affect what we experience and how we feel. When hunger strikes, we can reach for a healthy, nutritious snack, or we can choose the sugar high of junk food. The more important the decision, the more profound its effect. For instance, how do I act towards that person who treated me badly? Do I generally choose to be passive, or do I actively set clear intentions and create what I want in my life? Every choice we make, however big or small, affects us in some way.

How Do You Make Choices? If you're interested in living a richer, fuller life, there is a foundation upon which you can base all of your decisions which can make life better not only for you, but also for those around you. This foundation is to choose based on what's best – what's best for you and for all of us. Imagine if every parent, spouse, friend, teacher, businessperson, and politician truly did their best to choose what's best for all involved in every decision they made. We would certainly live in a more caring, supportive world.

It's the Intention. "But how do I know what is really best?" you might ask. The answer is simple. It doesn't matter. What matters is not the choice you make, but rather the intention behind your choice. What matters is that whatever decision you make, you are clear in your intention of choosing based on what's best. If it later turns out that you made what appears to have been a bad choice, there's no need for guilt. Knowing that you did your best to choose with a sincere desire for what's best for all involved, your conscience stays clear and open. This then allows you to more easily learn from your mistakes, and to live with a clear heart and mind.
What's Best for Me, Too! Choosing what's best does not mean you have to always sacrifice yourself for others. An overly exhausted mother can lose her temper easily. Some time off for this mother might seem selfish, yet in the long run, it can help her to be a better mother to her children. So as we move through each day of our lives, let us remember to include ourselves as we do our best to choose what's best for all of us.

Divine Guidance

Many Meanings for Divine. Guidance can come from many sources. Yet by opening to guidance from the divine, we open to the support of powerful forces greater than ourselves. The divine has different meanings for different people, whether it be God, Creator, Jehovah, Allah, or Great Spirit. Yet even if you don't believe in any of these, consider the possibility that there is a very wise part of yourself – a higher self or a deeper self – which can provide you with guidance. What is important is that we open to this presence, however we choose to define the divine, and that we consciously invite this powerful guidance into our daily lives.

All Requests Only if it's Best. When seeking divine guidance with a specific result, be sure to end with "only if this is what's best." There are times when what's best is not what's easiest or most enjoyable. Sometimes unwanted or unexpected challenges, difficult situations, and even pain can teach us important lessons that in the long run help us to enjoy life more fully. When we choose to see all experiences as gifts from the divine and opportunities for growth and understanding, we open to a deeper level of divine guidance.

Acceptance and Compassion

Our Core Essence. Deep down we are all beautiful beings worthy of love and support. The sweet innocence of babies and young children is a clear example of this. Yet for most of us, the shining essence with which we came into this life became obscured over the years as our family and others were unable to give us the kind of unconditional love and support we so craved. As children, when we were repeatedly told that we were not good enough or were punished just for being who we are, thick layers of confusion and doubt developed, clouding our divine essence. Layers of fear and insecurity were woven into our personalities.

The MaskBy the time we are grown, most of us have developed a protective mask or persona to hide these layers of fear and insecurity from others, and at times even from ourselves. Outwardly we might appear happy or content, yet on the inside most of us to varying degrees feel unhappy with who we are. Yet beneath it all, that shining essence is still there. No matter how much we may have forgotten, no matter how thick those overshadowing layers may be, our beautiful core essence is and has always been there.

Acceptance and Compassion for Myself. By choosing to accept and have compassion for all of who you are – both your deep shining essence and the layers of dark clouds within – you can invite that beautiful inner essence to shine through the clouds and to shine again in your life. When fears, dark thoughts, or difficult emotions arise, first choose to accept that they are there. Then open to finding compassion for these dark clouds and where they came from. Ask for divine guidance as you explore and transform these dark places.

CourageIt takes courage to accept and have compassion for our fears and weaknesses. Yet by doing our best to be fully ourselves in all our strengths and weaknesses, our relationships can grow richer, deeper, and more meaningful. This may be challenging, as some people are unable or unwilling to accept certain parts of us. Yet as those around us see us becoming more real and honest with them, many will also be inspired to be more real and honest with us. Thus, instead of continually avoiding or denying those clouds or dark layers in both ourselves and others, we open to a deeper, more authentic way of living and of relating to others.

Acceptance and Compassion for Others. As you develop greater acceptance and compassion for yourself, you will notice that others, too, have lost touch with their shining core essence. As you work to accept and find compassion for yourself, it is most important that you choose also to give this gift to those around you.Acceptance of what is, coupled with compassion and discerning what we can change and what we cannot, allows us to find the courage to be all that we can be, and to empower others in doing the same.

Love and Empowerment

Let me start with myself. I will do my best to love and empower myself to be the best I can be every day of my life. By making this commitment to yourself, it becomes easier to love and empower those around you. But do you really want to give this gift to all other people? What if you really don't like someone? In this case, you can remind yourself that it is usually a person's personality that you don't like – the mask or dark clouds blocking their deeper essence. Remember that beneath the mask is a shining divine essence. While acknowledging those parts you don't like, do your best to empower the shining being hidden beneath the mask or personality that you don't like. You can choose to love and empower the divine spark within all.

Negative Judgment. Judging someone to be bad as a person does not empower or inspire anyone to be a better person. When you find yourself feeling negative judgment, first acknowledge the part of you that wants to judge – the part that wants to be right or better than others. Then do your best to learn from your judgment and let it go. Open to finding first acceptance, and then compassion and love both for you and for the person you judged. Choose to let your last thought always be that of love.

Stopping harm. What if someone does something that is clearly wrong or causes harm? In this case, be firm and take whatever action you feel is best to stop harm. Enforcing a serious consequence with someone who has acted out of extreme self-interest may be the most loving, empowering action you can take. Yet even as you take action, open to seeing the inner turmoil that causes people to do harm. You can act from a place of love and compassion, even while firmly stopping someone from doing wrong or causing harm. Through choosing to see beneath all of the pain, suffering, and hatred, and to recognize and connect with the divine essence within even those who would do us harm, not only do we heal the world, we heal ourselves.

Happiness

Every year he was gifted something which he wished for on his birthday.
He wished for a Bike on 19th which he did get.
It was his 20th Birthday that day. When his Dad asked him what he wanted on this
birthday, he replied,

'Happiness is having a car!'
He got his happiness. He drove it like never. Drove it till he felt to stop his drive.
After that day he never drove that car as passionately as he did on his birthday.
It was just as the Bike, now. It was all a resource utilized when needed.

Year changed*. Birthday again!
'What makes you Happy this time, son?'
'Nothing, Dad'
Dad: Nothing !?
Son: Yes, Dad. I don’t want anything.
Dad: Is anything wrong?
Son: It just became right, Dad. Today! Right now! Thanks Dad. Thanks a lot!
And he never wished for Happiness again.
Happiness is a state of mind. What it is like today, will be for a today or a few more. But very soon it’s never like the 1st day. Never. Ever.
Happiness Is Just a State of Mind. So, taking everything under the sun in the same vein can make you *Happy.
If not Happy at least it will make you *Poised. And that is all enough to Live a Life.
Isn't it ?

Microsoft planning to ‘kill’ Internet Explorer

According to ZDNet's sources Microsoft is building a completely new browser to replace the ubiquitous but oft-maligned Internet Explorer.

This new Windows browser is being called "Spartan," and it seems it's a completely new browser not based on Internet Explorer at all.

This is pretty surprising, considering how long Microsoft has stuck with Internet Explorer, but what isn't shocking is that the new browser will reportedly look and feel more like Chrome and Firefox.

Change Processor Name Permanently

A while ago on Tweak And Trick, I published an article on changing your processor name. But recently, Anil Kumar pointed out that the trick only changed the name temporarily.

After a user restarts his computer, the name reverted back to original which is obvious as each time Windows boots, it checks the connected hardware and updates the registry value automatically. So, changing the processor name using the earlier article did not have permanent results.

Thus, the alien processor name you had earlier again reverted back to the boring old one.

Problem:- To, make the name change permanent, it was required to update the Processor Name String registry key every time Windows starts.

Solution: It is very easy to change your processor name permanently by creating a registry key and placing a shortcut to it in the Windows start up folder. To do so, just follow the steps given below:-

Steps :-
1. Open Notepad.
2. Copy and paste the exact code given below:-

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DESCRIPTION\System\CentralProcessor\0]
"ProcessorNameString"="My Processor name 50000MHz"

To change the processor name, edit the part of the code given in blue. Also understand that \0 in the above code should only be present if Windows store your processor name at that location. Open the Registry Editor and navigate to the above mentioned keys to check whether or not to include the \0.

3. Click on File Menu, click on Save As and select "All Types" in the Save as Type option. Save the file as ProcessorNameChange.reg or *.reg.
4. Create a new shortcut on your desktop. Enter regedit / S "Location of the .reg file" as the location of the item. For example, enter regedit /S "C:\Processor Name.reg" if your registry file is located in the root of C:\ drive.

5. Copy the created Shortcut file.
6. Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup (in Windows XP) or to C:\Users\ User-Name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup (in Windows 8, Windows 7 and Windows Vista. Also remember that AppData is a hidden folder.) if C: is your System drive.
7. Paste the copied file.

This registry file would now execute each time when Windows starts and the Processor Name String would be modified each time. This means that even upon restarting your computer, you will see that the changed processor name is permanent.

Google Releases 'nogotofail' Network Traffic Security Testing Tool

Google introduced a new security tool to help developers detect bugs and security glitches in the network traffic security that may leave passwords and other sensitive information open to snooping. The open source tool, dubbed as Nogotofail, has been launched by the technology giant in sake of a number of vulnerabilities discovered in the implementation of the transport layer security, from the most critical Heartbleed bug in OpenSSL to the Apple's gotofail bug to the recent POODLE bug in SSL version 3.

The company has made the Nogotofail tool available on GitHub, so that so anyone can test their applications, contribute new features to the project, provide support for more platforms, and help improve the security of the internet. Android security engineer Chad Brubaker said that the Nogotofail main purpose is to confirm that internet-connected devices and applications aren't vulnerable to transport layer security (TLS) and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption issues.

The network security testing tool includes testing for common SSL certificate verification issues, HTTPS and TLS/SSL library vulnerabilities and misconfigurations, SSL and STARTTLS stripping issues, and clear text traffic issues, and more.

"Google is committed to increasing the use of TLS/SSL in all applications and services. But 'HTTPS everywhere' is not enough; it also needs to be used correctly," Brubaker wrote in a blog post.
"Most platforms and devices have secure defaults, but some applications and libraries override the defaults for the worse, and in some instances we've seen platforms make mistakes as well. As applications get more complex, connect to more services, and use more third party libraries, it becomes easier to introduce these types of mistakes."

Nogotofail tool, written by Android engineers Chad Brubaker, Alex Klyubin and Geremy Condra, works on devices running Android, iOS, Linux, Windows, Chrome OS, OS X, and “in fact any device you use to connect to the Internet.” The tool can be deployed on a router, a Linux machine, or a VPN server. The company says it has been using the Nogotofail tool internally for "some time" and has worked with developers to improve the security of their apps before releasing it. "But we want the use of TLS/SSL to advance as quickly as possible," Brubaker said.

The Nogotofail tool requires Python 2.7 and pyOpenSSL>=0.13. It features an on-path network Man-in-the-Middle (MiTM), designed to work on Linux machines, as well and optional clients for the devices being tested.

Make your computer run fast in10 easy steps

We all know that sinking feeling when your computer decides to slow down and barely function for no real reason.

Why is my computer so slow? There are several reasons why your computer might not be running at it’s optimal speed. Let’s start with what you’ve got running in the background…have a quick look, how many applications do you have open, how many internet windows do you have open? Now, are all of them really necessary? If the answer is no to any of them close them, don’t just x out the window, exit out of the software. Obviously that’s not going to fix the issue completely, but there are it’s a start. The good news is there are a even more easy things you can do to keep your computer healthy and happy, and running at top speed.

Here are just a few tips on how to get it back up to speed

1 Uninstall unused programs
2 Automatically delete temporary files
3 Additional storage
4 Update your software
5 Delete files you don’t need.
6 Remove gadgets you don’t use
7 Run a Disk Cleanup.
8 Run a Disk Defragment.
9 Check for any disk errors
10 Use anti Virus Software

Uninstall unused programs
----------------------------------------
Similar to the way temporary files can clog up the speed of your computer, unused programs can as well. Be honest with yourself, when was the last time you used iBooks or Keynote? In fact, there are probably a slew of programs on your computer that you aren’t even aware of! If you don’t use it, get rid of it. To remove these programs, access the ‘Control Panel>Programs and Features’, scroll through until you come to a software application you no longer require, typically each application should sit next to it’s uninstall icon. Click on it and follow the instructions to remove that piece of software from your computer.

Automatically delete temporary files
--------------------------------------------------
Temporary files are collected and housed on your hard disk. When you get a build up of these, they can slow your computer down quite dramatically. Just think about how every click, every web page you visit all add up, and what that means for the number of temporary files you’re asking your computer to store. These are easily cleared by going to your ‘Hard Drive’ or ‘My Computer’ and access the ‘Temp’ folder. Anything that’s older than today’s date is safe to delete from the ‘Temp’ folder. Make sure you empty your ‘Recycle Bin’ afterwards as well

Additional storage
------------------------------
Check on your hard drive and it’s storage capacity every once in a while, if becomes 85% full, your computer’s speed will be affected for the worst. If you use your computer often for large files, such as downloading movies etc, you might want to consider purchasing an additional hard drive for storage.

Update your software
---------------------------------
Do you ignore the alert telling you to update iTunes and Microsoft Office? You shouldn’t! These updates offer improvements to the current version of software you are operating. The new available updates may fix your problem, so always ensure you update when given the chance. Follow these tips and you should get at least 60-100% more of your computer’s speed back!

Delete files you don’t need.
------------------------------------------
Unless you have very little storage space on your computer or simply have an abundance of unnecessary documents, deleting small files won’t make much of an impact on your computer’s overall function. However, any large files like movies you never watch, photos you don’t need, or songs you never listen to can really gum up the works and should definitely be removed.

Don’t forget to empty your trash bin.

Remove gadgets you don’t use
-----------------------------------------------
All gadgets that are running slow down your computer.

Run a Disk Cleanup.
---------------------------------
This can clean up hundreds of megabytes of temporary files – sometimes even gigabytes (if you have Windows XP, Vista, or 7). It will also open a window in which you can chose what to delete. Go to My Computer, right-click the Hard Drive and select Properties, and then click Disc Cleanup (within the General tab). Check all the boxes except for the game files and setup files.

Run a Disk Defragment.
-------------------------------------
This will reconfigure the way the hard drive stores information for maximum efficiency. Go to My Computer, right-click the Hard Driveand select Properties, then go to the Tools tab and click Defragment Now.

Check for any disk errors
---------------------------------------
These will also slow your computer down. Go to My Computer, right-click the Hard Drive and select Properties, then go to the Toolstab and click Check Now under the Error-Checking area. When the dialogue box opens, check both boxes.

If you get a window saying that Windows can’t check the disk while it’s in use, click on Schedule Disk Check and then OK. It will run on your next reboot.

Use anti virus software
-----------------------------------------
Use anti virus software to prevent you from virus attack. This will help you from making you computer run fast . I strongly recommend you to use Avast anti virus software Its the best software for antivirus

Bangalore railway station becomes first to have WiFi facility

Bangalore City railway station has become the first station in the country to have WiFi facility for providing high speed internet to passengers.

WiFi facility will be available to the passengers on their mobile phones free of charges initially for a period of 30 minutes. For usage beyond 30 minutes, the user may purchase scratch cards, which will be made available at the WiFi Help Desk.

These are priced at Rs 25 for 30 minutes and Rs 35 for one hour and are valid through 24 hours. Additional browsing time can also be purchased on-line using credit/debit cards, a senior railway official said.

RailWire - the retail Broadband distribution model of RailTel Corporation of India Ltd, a PSU of Railway Ministry, is involved in distribution of internet bandwidth through WiFi.

"The WiFi facility at Bangalore is operational after the inaugural of the service by Railway Minister Sadananda Gowda recently," said the official adding that "with the implementation of the service, Bangalore railway station becomes the first station in the country to have WiFi facility for passengers."

RailTel has been mandated by Railways to provide WiFi facility at major stations, the official said.

BBM Adds Support for Timed Messages and Message Retraction

Smartphone maker BlackBerry has introduced new privacy and control features for its messaging app BBM, allowing users to delete messages from chats and share pictures for short duration of time.
Similar to popular photo messaging app Snapchat, BBM will now allow users to set a timer for controlling how long messages and pictures they share with contacts can be viewed within BBM.
The message is hidden until the recipient touches and holds on the chat. Then, once the timer has expired (or if the recipient takes their finger off the screen), the message is no longer visible.
The user also receives a notification if BBM detects that the recipient has taken a screenshot of the image or message.
"At the core of the BBM experience is privacy and control. These two notions are more important today than ever before as people are looking for simple ways to help guard against their messages getting into the wrong hands or being seen by anyone other than the intended recipient," BlackBerry said in a statement.
The new features for BBM introduced today enable users to communicate with more discretion and freedom, it added.
Using the message retraction feature, users can retract their message to remove it from their BBM chat before or after it has been read, so that it is no longer visible within the BBM chat.
The Timed Messages and Message Retraction will, however, be are premium features. While these will be available free to BBM users for next three months, these will later be offered as part of a broader bundle of features with BBM subscription later.
"These new enhancements to BBM were highly requested so we're excited to be delivering them to users today," BlackBerry President Global Enterprise Services John Sims said.
These capabilities will allow users to be more creative in how they deliver their messages while also being confident that their content is kept private and seen only by its intended recipient, he added.
Besides, BBM has introduced a new feature that allows users to request an HD version to enjoy picture they receive on BBM in full detail.
The new features are available for download over the next couple of days for BlackBerry 10 smartphones, iPhones and Android smartphones by installing the latest BBM update in BlackBerry World, App Store and Google Play.

Why International Organization for Standardization is abbreviated as ISO

The three official languages of the ISO are English, French, and Russian. As its name would have different abbreviations in different languages ("IOS" is English, "OIN" in French, etc.), the organization adopted "ISO" as its abbreviated name, derived from the Greek word isos (ἴσος, meaning equal).

Google celebrates Mangalyaan's 1 month in Mars orbit with a doodles

Google on Thursday night put out a special doodle on its home page for India, marking Mangalyaan's one month in Mars orbit. The doodle which is static, unlike a few dynamic ones that Google puts out on some occasions, shows the Mangalyaan in outer space with a portion of the red planet in the background.
It is an illustrated image, fashioned in the style of space-related images that often used to adorn school notebooks in the late 80s and 90s.
Mangalyaan, which was blasted off into space on November 5 last year, entered the Mars orbit on September 24. It has been one of the biggest scientific achievements for India, putting ISRO, India's space agency, in the select group of four space agencies that have successfully sent a probe to Mars orbit.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi
hailed the Mars mission as a major achievement. "History has been created today. We have achieved the near impossible. I congratulate all ISRO scientists and all my fellow Indians on this historic achievement," he said on the day Mangalyaan entered the Mars orbit. "The odds were stacked against us. Of the 51 missions attempted across the world so far, a mere 21 had succeeded. But we have prevailed."
After getting up-close with Mars, Mangalyaan had sent several pictures of the planet. One of the images, which showed the red planet in its entirety, was widely shared and used across the world. In fact, taking an inspiration from NASA in the US, runs a Twitter account -- @MarsOrbiter - through which it shares the mission related news with the world.
The last tweet from the account was made a few days ago. "Phew! Experience of a lifetime. Watched the #MarsComet #SidingSpring whizzing past the planet. I'm in my orbit, safe and sound," it said.
The account has over 1,68,000 followers.
